Sorry, but that is exactly what CM does. Using so-called anonymous sources, folks who spill the beans to CM but request to remain anonymous. If the matter is so scandalous, why have these so-called anonymous sources remained quiet? If they find it all so distasteful as per the article, why not send Rome a letter requesting an investigation? Smells like a smear campaign in order to discredit Cardinal Dolan since I find CM credibility wanting. Where are the other Catholic news sources? Why are they not crying foul?
Terry, When I first read the article, you know what came to mind? "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Let see where this one falls in the next few days. Let's see if any other source, one with some credibility, picks it up.
Watch the clips of Voris trying to do his best Mike Wallace impression, interviewing a "source," who "to protect his identity" (why?) they make look like Father Merrin arriving at Reagan's doorstep in The Exorcist! Its a hoot and a half, made all the more funny for Voris dead serious and oblivious approach to it all as the "source," talks in shadow and with a voice distortion thing.
But my favorite part of it all is, as usual the combox, where one Voris reader suggests that someone with enough money should hire a private investigator to follow their parish priest around and then report back. If there are any shenanigans going on (sexual of course as that is all these people really care about so I guess they think they are going to find Fr. Miller going to the local No Tell Mo'Tell with his boy toy) they should report to their bishop and then if nothing is done go straight to CM!
I didn't watch this one just saw the still and was going to read the transcript but it went on and on and on. I'll wait for the movie - it will rival Spotlight.
i am no fan of Dolan and his history in Milwaukee is not good. I hope this is not a repeat performance. He is too much of a politician and seems to think pretty highly of himself. Voris is cut from that same cloth. So, time will tell what is or is not going on in New York Archdiocese. There is precious little trust on the part of the laity for the hierarchy.
It's just that they go after Dolan all the time it seems and it just seems like retaliation by the disgruntled. Not to mention mudslinging - They went after Wuerl for a lavish lifestyle - no one paid attention. They will hound these guys until retirement - in the same way Mahoney was hounded - there was even a Sede site begging for incriminating evidence against Mahoney - for years - nothing came out. Dirt diggers' reputations precede them - and the sources they get may have more problems than the people they are trying to take down.
Michael had a great Mic'd Up I saw last week - he had Fr. Regis Scanlon on and it was very good - the Scanlon part - Michael was more toned down and Scanlon said nothing inflammatory whatsoever.

It's like beating a dead horse. I hope CM is insured for libel.
