Bikinis and scantily clad women and men suffering from innapropriate erectile dysfunction...

Obviously the woman in the ad
is much too fat to be wearing so little.

There is a great post on the subject here.

Why do people obsess about what other people wear anyway?

I just don't know.

Never mind.

He's a crackpot blogger,
one minute he posts something decent,
then turns around and posts
something nuts!

I'm surprised you thought that post was great. Some of it seemed like Christopher West's approach to me.

    1. The truth of the matter is that I don't care about what other people wear or don't wear to the beach.

  3. LOL...quietcalmspirit....Geez, now even admiring another person's uh, physique is a sin? What a sour bunch of prunes would think that? God made male and female beauty, who would thing that is wrong? Well, okay so some plastic surgeon's had in a hand in some of it but hey, God made them too!

I think the article should mention, most of the people wearing "revealing clothes," on the beach or elsewhere are inspiring more nausea then lust!

    1. This is a difficult subject for me to take seriously.

  4. I'm not paranoid about the issue of modesty, but our Lady did say at Fatima:

"Certain fashions will be introduced that will offend Our Lord very much."

so it is something to think about.

    2. CK - Point well taken. I can't do anything about what other people wear except to pray and try to make reparation.

I'm just having fun with the brouhaha everyone has over this subject.

I think if people are so concerned, maybe burqas should be mandated. I mean there are people who think women shouldn't wear pants or sleeveless tops and so on. Dress modestly and set an example - that should be sufficient, don't you think? If we can't convince people, surely we can't coerce them. Someone famous said something like that.

Big smile! big hug - all around!

  6. Don't make fun of Our Lady guys. That is one rule I enforce here.

  7. I had to laugh yesterday when I read that you would be posting more on the Church's teaching on homosexuality during gay pride month. I thought, "This guy is such a glutton for punishment. What's next? A post on modesty to further stir the pot?" And now there you go... LOL

    1. Thanks Scott - I just got back from adoration, repenting I caused so much trouble. But since it made you laugh - I'll leave the post up.

  8. Those erectile dysfunction commercials are such a joke. Maybe if those guys were married to a pretty woman, they wouldn't have so much trouble.

    What?

    1. I always wondered why they are in separate bath tubs on the beach?

    2. BTW: There have been very heavy burtations on this subject elsewhere online.

    3. The separate tubs is a metaphor for the sterility of the sexual act between the two people (can't say "husband & wife" because they might be brother and sister, you never know). Despite the closeness in proximity of their bodies, they are apart - because the sex is not about giving of oneself to the other, but the taking of what each feels is deserved. The commercials are actually a very good presentation of the Theology of the Body. Unintentionally of course.

I should write a book about it and join Chris West on the speaking circuit.

    4. That's brilliant. I never thought of it like that. You should maybe join the TOB Institute.

    5. Maybe I'll just blog about it instead.

  9. Oh Terry...I wasn't making fun of Our Lady. Remember God is love and laughter and sitting in a dark room with a sour mug on your face is for the Nun's I had in the 8th grade!
