I'm surprised you thought that post was great. Some of it seemed like Christopher West's approach to me.

God made male and female beauty, who would thing that is wrong? Well,okay so some plastic surgeon's had in a hand in some of it but hey, God made them too!
ReplyDeleteI think the article should mention, most of the people wearing "revealing clothes," on the beach or elsewhere are inspiring more nausea then lust!
This is a difficult subject for me to take seriously.

DeleteI'm just having fun with the brouhaha everyone has over this subject.
I think if people are so concerned, maybe burqas should be mandated. I mean there are people who think women shouldn't wear pants or sleeveless tops and so on. Dress modestly and set an example - that should be sufficient, don't you think? If we can't convince people, surely we can't coerce them. Someone famous said something like that.

ReplyDeleteI had to laugh yesterday when I read that you would be posting more on the Church's teaching on homosexuality during gay pride month. I thought, "This guy is such a glutton for punishment. What's next? A post on modesty to further stir the pot?" And now there you go... LOL

DeleteThe separate tubs is a metaphor for the sterility of the sexual act between the two people (can't say "husband & wife" because they might be brother and sister, you never know). Despite the closeness in proximity of their bodies, they are apart - because the sex is not about giving of oneself to the other, but the taking of what each feels is deserved. The commercials are actually a very good presentation of the Theology of the Body. Unintentionally of course.
