  10. Terry, can I borrow that and decorate it at my parish next year

    ReplyDelete
  11. Oooo, yes.

Next year, have one of the nuns pointing down to another skeleton (on the steps) with the question "Been to confession yet?" A little dry ice on the unrepentant should do nicely. ("Yes, children, he said no, and now he smokes")

I live in the country. I have to decorate vicariously.

  12. Are those active members of some of the LCWR orders?

    Sorry - couldn't resist.

  13. Larry, if those nuns were members of LCWR, they will be wearing power suit or jumpsuit. These nuns are members of CMSWR.

  16. Your house is lovely. I can spot that Minneapolis stucco anywhere.

    Settle down, Francis.

  18. I'm settled- this is the internet, after all- but you're still an ass.

  19. ...but you're still an ass.

    I love you too, Thom.

  20. We were going to trick or treat your house, but now I see our daughter would have been too scared to go up to your door. Bravo Terry, fine work (as usual).

  21. But did you have Billy Idol's "White Wedding" playing?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Aneas - one little boy was too scared - I had to bring the candy down to him and then distracted him with some fireworks.

  23. BTW - the nuns were inspired by the 'incorrupt' St. Catherine of Bologna - who sits in her abbess chair dressed in her habit. She looks like a skeleton to me.

  24. Is the name calling really necessary? Isn't there a "Please comment with charity and avoid ad hominem attacks" admonition written in the comment window? Try looking for it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ah yes, it's much more civilized to passive-aggressively allude to Consecrated Women as skeletons.

I totes forgot my traddy manners. :)

  26. Thom - don't be nuts - it 'twas the eve of All Saints decorations and those were my saints - the one in black, though inspired by Catherine of Bologna is Therese - she corrupted entirely you know - she's with her sister Celine. The single figure is my homage to Billy Idol.

    Lighten up everyone. :)

  27. Oh Terry I didn't mean you. I am nuts, however. :)

  28. Oh - okay. Well, carry on. LOL! I'm nuts too.

Believe me, I'm not taking this seriously anyway.

FYI - that night after all the tricksters were home in bed - I assembled all the figures in the back hedge as if they were starring into the house next door. They stayed there all day. I have no idea what the neighbors thought... See - I'm nuts too.
