The very chic...
Bishop Domenico Mogavero drew compliments from churchgoers at Mass on the Mediterranean island of Pantelleria in green silk vestments designed by Armani and decorated with symbols of vines, wheat, shells and starfish. Bishop Mogavero said the vestments had turned heads, particularly among female parishioners, but warned he had no intention of turning the aisle into a catwalk. - No, no, no... Full Story

Mogavero's venture into designer wear follows reports that Pope Benedict had a weakness for red Prada shoes, although the Vatican daily L'Osservatore Romano scotched the rumours, pointing out that the shoes in question were in fact made by an Italian artisan. "The Pope is not dressed by Prada but by Christ," the newspaper stated.
ReplyDeleteLOL, You gotta love the Catholic Church. You just do. We don't want to know about his private life, do we, lol?
He's the next contestant of Lifetime's "Project Runway!" LOL Sashay!
ReplyDeleteI have no quibble with a famous artisan giving a product of his art to the Church. But if the vestment in the picture is really what Armani gave, then I cannot think that he's giving his best. That's a pretty ugly chasuble.
ReplyDeleteShante!
ReplyDeleteTop, bottom, I see what you did there, LOL.
ReplyDeleteUgly, ugly chasuble, IMO.
Oh no! That was completely unintended.
ReplyDelete:-p
ReplyDeleteLeave it to the Italians...sorry...had some bad experiences in Italy with idiot priests...
ReplyDeleteShit for brains is my mantra...sorry!
It does NOT surprise me at all.
I hate to say this; but in watching the Papal liturgy beautifying Blessed John Paul II and the Mass of Thanksgiving (sponsored by the Diocese of Rome) there was a complete difference...very little Latin; concelebrants up the "yin-yang" (something Pope Benedict has abolished; I agree, totally) and all kinds of kitsch.
Italy is NOT a bastion of tradition, thanks to Archbishop Bugnini...God rest his soul...it is very antagonistic to Tradition, to the Extraordinary Form, and from my limited experience (several pilgrimages there), Italian priests are idiots.
Sorry.
LOL,Padre...
ReplyDeleteI'm to sexy for my chasuble!
ReplyDeleteSo sexy it hurts
And I'm too sexy for Milan too sexy for Milan

Is "seafoam" a liturgical color?
ReplyDelete:-P
Al! How did I forget that song? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGette - very funny - seafoam - that is the color.
I think it is fantastic that the bishop is celebrating Italian fashion! I'm sure there are more classic designs out there though that may have looked better!
