"Everyone who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment."

I came across a post on the Deacon's Bench pertaining to the President and his staff apparently watching the operation which took down Osama bin Laden. I know many practicing Catholics 'hate' Obama and have demonized most of the Catholics on his staff, but I was personally impressed by the NYT account of the death of bin Laden Deacon Kandra reprinted, specifically, "Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. fingered his rosary beads." Judge the man as you like, I'd say that was pretty Catholic. A commenter to the post, noting the Catholics in the 'war room', had this to say:

Before the 2008 election, I read in Obama’s autobiography that as community organizer in Chicago, he worked with Catholic priests and lay people. In fact, he was hired for the community organizer job by a Catholic priest, Fr. Thomas Kaminski, who died recently. Ever since, I have been interested in his relationship with Catholicism.
.
In addition to his choice of Joe Biden as VP, one-third of his Cabinet is Catholic. (Latest statistics are that Catholics are 22% of the population in the U.S.)
.
In the photo of Obama and his National Security team in the Situation Room on Sunday evening, I can identify 6 Catholics in the group of 12 people. Not pictured but certainly a key adviser, is Leon Panetta. In an interview yesterday, Chuck Schumer said that Panetta is one of the most moral people he knows. He and Panetta were in Congress together. Schumer mentioned that Panetta went to Mass every day.) - Biden's Beads

"Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer." 1 John 3:15
.
2302 By recalling the commandment, "You shall not kill,"94 our Lord asked for peace of heart and denounced murderous anger and hatred as immoral.
.
Anger is a desire for revenge. "To desire vengeance in order to do evil to someone who should be punished is illicit," but it is praiseworthy to impose restitution "to correct vices and maintain justice."95 If anger reaches the point of a deliberate desire to kill or seriously wound a neighbor, it is gravely against charity; it is a mortal sin. The Lord says, "Everyone who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment."96
.
2303 Deliberate hatred is contrary to charity. Hatred of the neighbor is a sin when one deliberately wishes him evil. Hatred of the neighbor is a grave sin when one deliberately desires him grave harm. "But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven."97 - CCC

ReplyDeleteSaint Michael to Satan as they fought over the body of Moses.
One day, as we have done in the past, we will be fighting Muslims.
I hope Saint James the Moor (Muslim) Slayer shows up again.
I think I will ask the Vice President if he is a Freemason; the Catholics that are do not understand Freemasons are Satan's children.

Praiseworthy actions by VP Biden.
ReplyDeleteFor the record:
ReplyDeleteJoe Biden believes that the Roe v. Wade decision should remain intact. He is quoted as saying, "The best policy for our country on the question of abortion is a policy of Government neutrality. Put another way: I do not believe that the government should be involved in making judgments on whether a woman can, or should have an abortion, or – if she chooses to do so – in paying for that abortion." In September 2008, Biden was barred, by the bishop of Scranton, Pennsylvania, from receiving Holy Communion in the diocese because of his support for abortion rights.[1]
He voted in favor of a 1999 bill to ban in most circumstances partial birth abortion[2] and on the 2003 Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act.[3] Biden has defended these votes as recently as April 2007.[4]
Joe Biden at Gallaudet University in Washington DC, USAHe has joined with Democrats in voting against parental notification and a ban on abortions on military bases. Biden's record on abortion includes receiving a 100% rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America in four of the last five years, although he received a 36% as recently as 2003. Biden pledged that he would appoint Supreme Court justices that share his beliefs.[4] He has also stated his opposition to the Mexico City Policy, and voted in favor of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act in 1994. Biden supports federal funding for embryonic stem cell research and voted to expand development and voted against a 1998 ban on human cloning.
Let us pray he finds his rosary.

I posted this comment at America Mag and it was, of course deleted. They, and the NYT, prefer their own propoganda, namely, that Biden is immersed in reverent prayer for whilst meditating on the mysteries of the rosary. He is praying for the salvation of Bin Laden's soul. If you believe this, I have a bridge in Brooklyn...
Miss Maria,
ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail squarely on the head.
Satan has fooled Catholics into believing all the Modernist baloney.
I know Catholic Freemasons that finger their Rosaries and I ask the "Why?"
As a Freemason, they are mortal enemies of our Mother's Son.
I really liked your comment.
Don't worry about those other guys deleting your comments. They are in the other camp.
By the way, Roe never had an abortion, and went on to have several children.
God be with you.
