The O's on the move again...

More vacation time.
.
Shelly is going to Spain - she reserved 30 rooms for her entourage.
.
10 more days are scheduled at Martha's Vineyard when she gets back - after a weekend in Florida - the whole family will be in tow this time.
.
Of course there is nothing wrong with taking vacation time or traveling to Europe during the depression.  How long has Mr. Obama had his job?  Anyway - of course it doesn't apply - but if a regular guy gets a new job very often his benefits do not kick in until after 6 months, and vacation time must accrue - he has to earn it.  I know, in a classless system such as the U.S. executives are exempt from such limitations and conditions for employment.
.
Aren't they though.

  1. I sure am glad the Obama's are getting their rest and relaxation. When they get back they should look spiffy!

I'm also pleased to see that the man who once said companies and corporations should not be having conventions in Vegas is himself living up to that request by vacationing everywhere but there. And he deserves it! He is the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and you just have NO IDEA how hard you have to work to get one of those.

  2. POTUS always walks with the older daughter. FLOTUS
walks in back with the younger, who will get to vacation with the King and Queen of Spain on her special vacation with her mother. Oh, and grandmother gets to be with them too. And probably another private plane for the first dog.

  3. Ya know hun--ya just gotta know how to work the system... :)

Although I'm not an executive I am salaried and I DO travel quite a bit for work..if I'm going someplace I'll stay an extra couple-three days and take in the sights..what's the rush to get home?? So I only put in 20 hours "real" work that week?? It doesn't even come close to the times when I've had to work 50-60 hours in a week, with no ovetime..

I plan my trips enough in advance so I can take advantage of car rental rates ( cheaper often to rent a car for an entire week than for only 3-4 days), discounts for airfare for advance purchase, same with hotels, discounts with AAA and frequent flyer miles, etc. I try to stay in the same hotels, flights, car rentals so I can get Preferred rates..sometimes even free days.

And oh yeah--I don't have to use of any of my vacation time doing this....and with my discounts my perdeim more than covers my extra days and expenses...

And I'm not even a power traveller..I've picked up alot of tips from Travelling salesmen/ exes that are on the road 3 weeks or more out of the month..

Although I haven't been to Spain (yet)..I've heard it's lovely this time of year... :)

  5. "on call" 24/7...24 hours a week, 7 months a year.

(stolen from Will Ferrell of SNL when he parodied GWB, but it works more effectively with the current Prez)

  8. belinda--hehehe:) I really learned how to cook when at one point in my life I had three male roomies--they gave me money for groceries if I would cook :) Got to try out all different kinds of recipes.

Speaking of which--it is berry season in Utah..so this weekend I made up mixed- berry (raspberry and blackberry--Martha Stewart recipe) turnovers...and a nice mixed berry hot topping for Sunday morning waffles...

Thom--the Pope just needs to learn how to lock the gate and tell the photogs to take a hike..:)
