That's pretty much my point - waiting for what? How many followers or just the curious waited for yesterday to see if Charlie was right? How many people waited for the 3rd secret to be revealed? How many people wait for the warning and chastisement? All of these specifications, dates and signs are mans literal interpretation and not God's ways or manner of doing things. A person waits in anticipation and thinks it is faith. We look forward to the Second Coming, but we do not suspend our lives waiting for it. We labor until he comes again. The Church interprets what the Spirit says to the Churches. We need to live from and by faith and not try to manipulate the word of God doesn't do what we expect him to do in the way we expect.
I think the so-called Locutions to the World by the anonymous mystic and Charlie are permitted to demonstrate to us that our ways are not God's ways.
He said he was deceived, and is withdrawing from the public scene. He also warns people not to attempt to find ways to say he was right after all. He was wrong and admitted it, as he promised he would. I think it was quite manful of him. Please read his statement in the link below. Thanks!
Thanks Fr. - I saw that - like I said - I think he's fine. It works out for the good of his soul and the salvation of souls.
The only problem is that it simply reinforces the scoffers who ask 'where is Christ's longed for coming? Everything remains the same?' Although the faithful are helped to deepen their faith and trust in God alone.
At least that's how I see it. Everything works out for the good.
I don't disagree with you. I just wanted to note that he stated that he was deceived -- actually using that word himself -- and said he would retire from the public scene. I don't recall other alleged 'seers' whose prophecies haven't materialized doing that. Maybe they have, though. Anyway, I appreciate him for telling people not to pay attention to his futurecasts anymore. I think it shows his intentions were good. Maybe I'm wrong, though.
There are many people right now on the website "Mystics of the Church" discussing their experiences with Charlie Johnston. The owner of the Mystics website was an early supporter of Charlie. The betrayal, the stories of verbal abuse, the stories of people spending money they didn't have because Charlie Johnston advised them "money would be useless" are appalling. Don't dismiss the harm people like him do. Goto the comments.
Paying attention is free will. I pay closest attention to what Father days at Mass, what my spiritual director says and what the bishop says. I know they're not going to steer me wrong.

Poor Charlie.
ReplyDeleteIt's all good - God won't abandon him.
Deletethe problem with REAL prophecies is the waiting........

its obvious Charlie is not a prophet of God.
DeleteStill every spirit must be tested to see if its from God.
Call it an exercise.
Remember Ecuador
You gave the deadline (I think out of mockery)
I knew the place (unexpectedly from an unlikely source)
It was all team work where three played a part but none could put it together.
Internet is an interesting thing. (please delete this post if you find that it needs deleting)
I won't do that. I didn't mean to sound as if I were arguing either - I just think it's easy to convince ourselves about stuff like this.
