The headlines:
Toonces Dead!
He ended his ninth life by suicide.
Law enforcement stated he left a note,
printed in lipstick on the mirror above his catbox.
The note read:
Just like Capucine,
I can't continue on -
I've lost my looks ...
there are no more parts for old cats ...
I'm going for a drive,
just like Gloria Wandrous did
in Butterfield 8.
Don't look for me.
No sale,
Toonces
This is so tragic. If only someone could have been there for him ...
Toonces' last job was as an Uber driver but he refused to pick up Poodles - he thought they were pretentious.

Don't know whether to laugh or to cry. I don't get cats. Compared to, say, English Bull Dogs, well, there's no comparison.
ReplyDeleteWhat?
Some cats think they are dogs. I like that.
DeleteHas anyone ever done a well-designed study to show that cats have EXACTLY nine lives? Toonces may not really be gone.
ReplyDeletehaha! You know, I hate to sound like I'm from the Esalen Institute, but I have a theory about transmigration of souls - for cats. They never really die ...
