I think I may have been wrong to have been so skeptical of many apparitions and private revelations concerning our times.
I doubt anyone paid much attention to my speculations regarding such things, but I want to apologize if anyone was misled by my skepticism and under-educated use of citations from mystical theologians and saints. I also want to apologize for any scorn I've expressed for those experiencing such things, and/or promoting them.
Don't be so hard on yourself, Terry.
ReplyDeleteEverything has already been given to us. There is no sign greater than the Sign of the Cross. The message they they wait to hear is the message of the Gospel. And no miracle is greater than the Holy Eucharist.
It's just that some people get sidetracked. Perhaps your writing convinced one soul that they were putting too much energy into getting distracted, and now they are back on the right road.
Thanks E.
DeleteActually, I've been following you for years for the very reason that you seemed to be the only person online who could recognize a false apparition.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks CK.
DeleteThere is a well respected canadian priest I have never heard of before that some think is an expert on these things - and his books seem to sell well. I was so surprised he endorses some false visionaries/private 'apostolates'. It blew me away. I don't understand priests involving themselves in these matters to such an extent - except of course in order to provide the sacraments for people who follow such things. Not that there is anything wrong with that. ;)
