Letting go ...

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

I would never be able to vote for Trump or Clinton.  Never.  Ever.

It's time to let go and let the dead bury their dead.

I am now a conscientious objector.

Song for this post here.

  1. I hear you Terry ... I hear you. Gonna be interesting to see where this is going to lead us all.

  2. I agree.....I couldn't vote for either one. It's funny. You and I posted something just minutes apart and we both used photos of this pair from the same affair. At least you and I picked slightly different ones.

    1. I think the photo demonstrates they are both cut from the same cloth.

  3. We are just waking up to the fact that we have been manipulated for years, played for fools by a rich and powerful cabal. The Bushes, Clintons, Rockerfellers, Romneys are all the same. We have not had a democracy with real choice for years. Everyone does what they are told and you and I pay the price. Is it really that different in our Church? Money corrupts when used as an end in itself and not a means to improve everyone's life. Pope Francis has got that right but he is a lonely voice in the desert that everyone likes to admire but few want to follow.

    1. I couldn't agree more - if people believe Trump is any different from the others and is going to save the country by appointing pro-life judges, I think they are deluded. We've been duped for years, promised an overturn of Roe v Wade, by flag waving phonies. It's a billionaires club - it's like the lottery - people keep buying the tickets and electing the same old same old.

Some bloggers are ranting about morality and Trump's past - that doesn't make any difference to me - his past is pro-Clinton - pro-money and power and making history. If people can't see what's happening - right before their eyes - well say goodbye to the pie.

There was a news clip of Trump out talking and intimidating Cruz and Rubio - the parting shot was Cruz without a comeback - he was bullied into silence. If that's the guy conservatives want for president - they shouldn't be surprised when he turns against them.

  4. Terry, please consider the lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court that is at stake. We have religious liberty and the rights of the unborn to consider. I will vote for the Republican nominee because the lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court is too important to let someone who does not value the lives of the unborn or the nation's first freedom (religious liberty) to make that lifetime appointment.

    1. I've considered that for years. How many more years are you going to believe that stuff?

  5. Reality tv is taking over actual reality. If Christie becomes Trump's vice president, we'll have two leaders abusing reporters almost daily. North Korea though will stop threatening the USA but USA young people will continue to supply North Korea with hostages by hiking on the border or stealing posters from hotels. US young people...attention...stay entirely away from North Korea for your entire life span. It's not that hard to do.

    1. I used to like Christie before he got on board with Trump - hopefully he can sink that ship before it launches.

  6. Meh ... the least of the Catholic problem is getting either of these puffed up two elected. The real challenge is Mr. Mills astute observation of things to come and what that will mean to us Catholic who care:

"Radical Response: 5 Smart Cues for Public Catholics
No matter who wins the elections, worldly resistance to Catholicism will likely grow, so be prepared.
Whoever wins the presidency this fall, the public life of Catholicism is likely to get harder. The choice matters a lot, but it will not save the Church from the mistreatment Jesus warned us about because we will continue to be a sign of contradiction to the world."

You can read the rest on Aleteia.

    1. What will be will be. As Carretto wrote:

"The thought that the affairs of the world, like those of the stars, are in God’s hands – and therefore in good hands – apart from being actually true, is something that should give great satisfaction to anyone who looks to the future with hope. It should be the source of faith, joyful hope, and, above all, of deep peace. What have I to fear if everything is guided and sustained by God? Why get so worried, as if the world were in the hands of me and my fellow men?"

    *sigh*.
It is like the secular 'Christmas Season' that begins in October and is impossible to escape.
