Poetry Thursday Returns

on a cloud covered day,
will you go away? - by terrance nelson

on a cloud covered day,
in the distance,
an airport.
a runway.
a plane ascends.

rising,
it pierces the clouds.
then vanishes.
disappears.
where is it
now?

what happened
to
all
of
those
on board?

perhaps...
they never...
existed.

OMG!

Song for this post here.

  1. Wonderful idea, Terry! I used to try and write a few myself. I hope I might allowed to share on Poetry Thursdays. ^^

My style was more freelance and never followed the rules. Hope that is okay?

    1. I'm not serious - but you are welcome to add your poetry. ;)

I used to post things like the lyrics from The Nanny theme song and pretend it was poetry...

      she was working
      in a bridal shop
      in flushing, queens...

      when her boyfriend
      threw her
      out
      in one of those crushing
      scenes...

No one got it except Larry. Haha!

  2. Well, I wrote one a few years back telling the story of Adam and Eve using the alphabet. Will post it later after I get back from running some errands.

On a side note though...poetry Thursdays do sound fun .

    1. There was a local couple who used to have poetry thurs on their blog - and it was serious - which is why I did my silly stuff. Mitchell still comments here on occasion, their blog is here: http://hadleyblog.blogspot.com/ - or Our Word and Welcome To It.

They moved to Texas after I did that. Ha!

  5. My daughter-in-law's 8 year old niece and I wrote an Easter song/poem together. It was about Jesus rising from the dead and Easter candy. Too bad you weren't there to hear us sing it!

    1. Oh - and it was sung to the tune of Jingle Bells!
