Some time ago, I had as coworkers three siblings, two sisters and their brother. They were Orthodox Christians from Jordan. A strikingly handsome bunch, they resembled icons with their arched eyebrows, large dark eyes, and strong straight noses. One day Nadine told me that her middle name was George, in honor of St. George, and that her sister and brother also had the middle name of George. In fact, she said that all the Orthodox in Jordan have the middle name George in honor of the Saint. I don't know if that is true, but I thought it was the coolest thing. It also reminded me of how boxer George Foreman gave all of his sons (and a couple of his daughters a variation on) the name George.
