Siena is a city in Italy ... Sienna is a pigment - it's also a minivan.

St. Catherine of SIENA

St. Catherine Benincassa is a canonized laywoman from S-I-E-N-A, Italy.

Bonus - something she said:

Even if [the Pope an incarnate devil], we ought not to raise up our heads against him, but calmly lie down to rest on his bosom... He who rebels against our Father is condemned to death, for that which we do to him we do to Christ: we honor Christ if we honor the Pope; we dishonor Christ if we dishonor the Pope. - St. Catherine of Siena

Oh - and the Sienese School of painting flourished in Siena, Italy.

That's all.

  1. I guess Catherine didn't drive a minivan. What?

    1. She may have - on occasion - traveled in a caravan ... get it? Maybe even a Doge's caravan. What?

      And I laugh.

    1. What do you mean? Your questions seems unclear to me because as far as I know there is only one priesthood.

    2. @priestdefender - I don't understand the question either?

    3. Both the common priesthood of the faithful, who are called upon to share their charisma, and the priesthood of the ordained, those who offer confession and mass and are called to lead us to heaven.

    6. Would you prefer to differentiate between diocesan and religious priests?

    7. I still don't get it - priestdefender asked which priesthood to defend. But I made no reference or challenge to the priesthood in the post. There is only one priest, Christ and that sacramentally conveyed upon men by Holy Orders, or more precisely " it is made present through the ministerial priesthood". Therefore I have no idea what this conversation is all about.

There is only one priesthood, one priest, Christ:

1547 The ministerial or hierarchical priesthood of bishops and priests, and the common priesthood of all the faithful participate, "each in its own proper way, in the one priesthood of Christ." While being "ordered one to another," they differ essentially.
