What are the responses that, in light of cultural sensitivities, are considered to be most appropriate?”
Where? In Michigan.
When? In August.
Who? Many speakers - highly qualified speakers. Deeply respected speakers. And clergy - for clergy and Catholic educators and religious, school superintendents, and diocesan personnel who minister to those with same-sex attraction.
And there will be a Bishop there as well: Most Rev. Allen H. Vigneron, Archbishop of Detroit.
This conference is very necessary.

Does look like a good line-up of speakers. And just to show that there are two sides to everything and/or that different people will experience the same thing differently, one of the speakers was written about (indirectly) on your blog on Feb. 20th...
ReplyDeleteNow I'm curious. Which one? I checked the posts for 2/20/15 for anyone in the line-up and didn't see anyone i wrote about on that date. I once referenced one of the non-professional female speakers whose experience I couldn't relate to, but other than that - everyone else seems well suited.
ReplyDeleteThe former seminarian you cited had Dr. Bob for that conference or class or whatever it was in St. Paul. I figured it was since I've participated in a similar "spiritual psychodrama" with him. Those take a good bit more explaining than the seminarian gave in his piece; they're definitely "handle with care" but I think they can be good with someone (like Dr. Bob) who knows what he's doing. Wonder if they'll try that at this conference, or if he'll just talk about the work he does.
