"The toys in question are plastic water guns or Nerf dart shooters in sizes ranging from pistol- to nearly rifle-length, contained in Easter baskets sold by the retailer for prices starting at $9.99." -

I'm sensing a Nobel Peace Prize nomination here.

Doesn't the Easter Bunny have the right to bear arms?
ReplyDeleteThe guys a loon...
ReplyDeleteBecause people from the generation that played cowboys and Indians with cap guns grew up to be so violent ...
ReplyDeleteWhy is this so offensive to you? Just because it's Pfleger? We had a priest here in CT, who every year in December would hold a news conference high-lighting inappropriate or violence based toys that were being marketed for holiday giving, encouraging people not to buy or give them, "outing" them if you will. All the major TV stations and newspapers gave him air time or at least did a story or interview. He musta been a loon too. Ace
ReplyDeletePS. Hope the Easter bunny is really good to you this year.
Hi Ace. Thanks for the vids BTW - you have a beautiful church.
ReplyDeleteBut this isn't offensive to me at all - just dumb - I think it is funny. They are just squirt guns. I suppose he'd like to see paint ball eliminated as well. And I laugh.
I'm offended!!
ReplyDelete:-P
PS Happy St Patty's day!
If a more conservative priest said that sexually explicit images should be removed from children's programming you would agree, as exposure to those things helps to develop a tolerance for sexual explictness later.
ReplyDeleteSo guns- whose only purpose is violence- are ok?
Not consistent at all.
Squirt guns.
ReplyDeleteAwe, if I tell my son this he will cry. How else can he toment his chickens and his sisters but with the nerf guns?
ReplyDeleteI like paintball.
ReplyDeleteMy sons and I used to have nerf gun fights when they were younger. Didn't make them violent. And if you don't believe me, I'll send them over and have them smack you around.
ReplyDeleteWhat?
Gotta love dem libruls. Take away guns and instead give the kids condoms. Stupid.
What do GUNS of any kind have to do with the celebration of Easter? Idolatry of the gun is not a good thing.
ReplyDeleteWhat do rabbits have to do with Easter? It's pagan. Perhaps there should be laws passed governing just exactly how one celebrates holidays, with strick criteria for gift giving.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Pfleger realizes that VP Biden likes to have water pistol fights at the WH for his staff...
ReplyDeleteWhile rabbits might be pagan, they are not going against the life-affirming aspect of Easter. Indeed, the way rabbits breed, they are a pro-life sign unlike guns. It is not to say one must not have guns or anything like that to say guns should not be in an Easter basket. Eggs, yes. Meat, yes. Guns? no.
ReplyDeleteSquirt guns.
ReplyDeleteMight as well put Playboys in it, too.
ReplyDeleteThat's really stupid.
