The reason why I haven't joined an online bloglomerate...

I don't want to be censored. I like to say/write what I think - come what may.  I once had a blog called Abbey-Roads II that was part of an online group.  I woke up one morning to find the guy in charge deleted  the whole thing - just because I said something critical about the program... I know!
.
I don't aim to please...

    Hahahahaha!

Thank you for your support these last few weeks, by the way.

I should be back at work soon. Maybe. I seem to have misplaced my 'bounce back' for now.

  3. Shadow - so glad you are back - I'm always praying. I knew if you read this you would laugh. Like I said to you once - I've been like this my entire life.

Ann - Thanks - good to see you here too.

  4. A good friend of mine was invited to join Patheos (a for-profit "blogomerate") and turned them down for this very reason. The truth is Patheos does own those blogs, and Patheos bloggers get paid based on how many people they draw to the site by way of their blog. A Patheos blogger has to play by the owners' rules while at the same time trying to distinguish himself from the herd in order to make the deal they made pay. That's got to affect the quality of the work and the motivation behind it, no matter how well-intentioned the blogger is.

Plus, the relentless "sell" once people agree to blog for Patheos becomes a real turn-off. Ugh. Jehovah's Witnesses are less annoying.

  5. Terry - how many times have you had to turn Patheos down?

  6. Larry, you can't expect Terry to embarrass them by sharing that!

  7. Is Patheos like the Clear Channel of Catholic blogging?

  8. Larry it was Vox Novel who wanted me but I told them they were intellectual enough for my stuff. Or was that Old Navy?

  9. Vox novel was a play on Vox Nova as well as the ambition of some bloggers who would like to be another Flannery. My reference to Old Navy is to signify how superficial and unintelligent I am. Quick shoulders hunch and cute smile!

Thanks for explaining how Patheos works.
    I had no idea.

  11. Patheos does not work like that. I have never been censored and only encouraged to continue doing what I was doing previously and in the same manner. I still cuss... a lot. I still offend people even more often.

I person can preach to the choir for only so long.

    I miss you, Terry, btw.
