No surprise there.
.
Here is one reason NOT to even consider voting for her:
.
Bachmann and her husband, Marcus, are born-again Christians, and it was God, she says, who encouraged her to run for higher office. - CNN
.
The other reason for me is that I could never take her seriously - much like Sarah Palin - too pretty. All she's got is her Mary Tyler Moore charm and the fact that she's one of the few truly pro-life candidates ever to seek the nomination. Like Palin however, I'd be afraid she'd nuke the Middle East to hurry the rapture along. I laughed at this comment to the article linked above, it's from one of her constituents:
.
Brad: I live in Bachmann's hometown of Stillwater MN. She is completely NUTS! Most of us are ashamed of her. Please focus your attention on other candidates, she doesn't deserve any more time in the spotlight. Cheers.
.
Deserve it or not, she and all of the others will be driving us nuts for the next year and a half. Politics is nothing but an endless campaign. So, who really runs government when these folks are always on the trail?
Thanks for this, Terry. Anyone who claims "divine right" to rule or hold office scares the sh!t outta me.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention... she is anti-abortion, not pro-life.
ReplyDeleteLarlarlarlarlarrrr...? Oh sorry Terry! Have I wandered in here by mistake? I meant to go into the kitchen, to make a cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you all talking about anyway? Politics?
Uwww yukky. No thanks. Goodnight everyone, I think I'll go to bed now. It's been a particularly discombobulated kind of day.....
Hmm...I don't have that perception of her yet, but the religious fervor of a Pat Robertson-type does turn me off and does reinforce my belief that not every religious misanthrope was flying an airplane on September 11th, 2001. However, I'm willing to give her a chance to explain her views more thoroughly.
ReplyDeletePS
Could you not have found a goofier picture of her? Goodness gracious, she looks like a member of the Heaven's Gate group in that pic.
Tea parties are for little girls with wild imaginations.
ReplyDeleteTom - I came up with an album of crazy pictures. I love doing that - you don't even need photo shop. I've seriously agreed with her on several points but like I said I can't see her as a serious candidate. I've tried really hard and I just can't get onboard with her. Pawlenty has a better chance and that ain't saying much - it would be like "Vote for Pedro" if he even got a nomination.
ReplyDeleteThom, what's with the veil? Shariah law come to the library?
ReplyDeleteIt isn't a veil, silly. It's a shemagh.
ReplyDeleteYou kind of look like me in the photo.
ReplyDeleteDidn't you know? I'm your evil hedonistic alter-ego.
ReplyDeleteWhat's a shemagh? I thought it was a keffiyah.
ReplyDeleteIt is a keffiyah, however when it is worn on the head it is a shemagh (even though I was wearing it without an egal).
ReplyDeleteUnderneath it, as well, in case the photo wasn't large enough, is a kufi.
ReplyDeleteWell--now you get to consider for President former Utah governor Jon Huntsman Jr..he DOES have enough bucks to be a REAL Republican...he's Mormon when it matters, which means when he visits Utah..he would probably make a good VP..his wife though adheres to the thought that you can't be too rich or too thin...and his son Will just graduated from Judge Memorial HS (Catholic high school) and will be playing football for the Naval Academy..
ReplyDeleteSara
Romney and Bachman would be a good looking running team though.
ReplyDeleteSo would Penelope Cruz and John Krasinski!
ReplyDeleteMy 2p.
I have to admit that it's still a pretty funny pic, now that I look at it again:0)
