The Poor Souls

"They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction and their going forth from us utter destruction.  But they are in peace." - Wisdom 3: 1-9

  1. My mother used to sing an old hymn which contained the lines:

"Watching the flames burn out our sin
    And worshiping God's Holiness."

    Makes sense to me.

  2. "Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen."

(Our Lord promised Saint Gertrude to release 1,000 souls from Purgatory each time this prayer is recited).

  3. Think of all those poor souls who have no one to pray for them: the destitute, the forgotten, the marginal, the prostitutes, the drug addicts, the hopeless alcoholics, the ones who are so horribly neglected by their own families.
    Jesus, mercy!
Have compassion on those souls for whom no one prays! They are the very "little ones" that the world forgets and the rich and the proud ignore.
Mary, Mother of Mercy, pray for them!
