On our pilgrimage in 2008, we visited the shrine where St. Charles Borromeo made his last retreat (up, up a horrid mountain)...I saw the actual Shrine where our Lady was laid out at her death...can't remember the name)...it was wet, cold, horrible (I was about ready to crawl outta my skin...so much for devotion)...but the image of our Lady in her Death moved me most profoundly. We had Holy Mass there and I was struck by the reality that God is Everything; nothing can keep us from Him...nothing temporal, nothing irritating or completely awful. I think that was the beginning of something I am still appropriating...thanks! Happy Feast, Terry! And to y'all! Love you!
