"Are we prepared to promote conditions in which the living contact with God can be reestablished? For our lives today have become godless to the point of complete vacuity. God is no longer with us in the conscious sense of the word. He is denied, ignored, excluded from every claim to have a part in our daily life." - Alfred Delp, S.J.

  1. Lord of what? Death?

This is a really bizarre post, Terry.

  2. Today is the anniversary of Hiroshima and is also the feast of the Transfiguration - sorry you didn't get that.

  3. I get the two dates. But why the comparison? Why not two separate posts?

    Peace,

    Michael

  4. I clicked back to see if anyone commented, because I was perplexed (although the video was indescribably ... just indescribable). Bit of an unexpected juxtaposition. So thanks for the info. about the anniversary.

Should have asked, of course, when I was here the first time.

I seem to remember Pavel Chichikov writing a haunting poem that juxtaposes the Transfiguration and Hiroshima--but it's not on his main page any longer.

Anyway, this is a comparison other artistic Christians have already made. I'm not surprised Terry noticed it.
