Holiday advice: NEVER listen to the negative voices of your family and friends.
Seriously.
You say, "Be kind to one another" and someone posts about how being kind is not true charity.
You say, "Don't think ill of one another" and someone calls you out for your shortcomings.
You say, "Don't judge" and someone posts a catechetical discourse on why it is important to do so.
What the hell is wrong with you people?
[Don't worry - I'll be letting you know what I think.]
Let nothing disturb you,
ReplyDeleteLet nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things
Whoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone suffices.
Thanks - the best advice - you are an angel.

DeleteI am going to try and memorize Santa Theresa's prayer. I hope to then take refuge in those words. My mother and her side of the family tend to be very critical and negative. My maternal grandmother was the same way and sadly, some of that has rubbed off on me.
DeleteI am praying to reject that way of thinking, feeling, and living and rise above it. I want to live with hope, joy and in gratitude to our God for everything epsecially when life is most difficult.
I want the grace to weather the storm so that I might live to see His face!
Nice response David. The world is becoming one big episode of Fox News. Negative, negative, negative. What used to be called "yellow journalism" is now standard internet stuff. The core beliefs of our Catholic Church are what we need to focus on. The rest be damned! Oops, it is Christmastime and already I have violated my own words. It was really sarcastic but then again isn't that our problem?
