"Are we prepared to promote conditions in which the living contact with God can be reestablished? For our lives today have become godless to the point of complete vacuity. God is no longer with us in the conscious sense of the word. He is denied, ignored, excluded from every claim to have a part in our daily life." - Alfred Delp, S.J.

Caitlyn look-a-likes ...

... a closer look.

Jessica Lange, Caitlyn Jenner, Cindy Crawford
Jenner wins.

Caitlyn with stylist.  She actually resembles
Cindy Crawford channeling Jackie O here.

A triumph!  Softness contrasted with a note of butch!
That leather jacket is an elegant touch!

I see it.

Song for this post here.

    1. Which isn't that uncommon in Hollywood. ;)

  2. Have you read The Catholic World Report blog on the "Idolness of Bruce Jenner"? Hits the nail on the head.

    1. You are correct - very good essay on contemporary idolatry. I'll post the link below - people can copy and paste into their browser:

It is interesting that many non-professionals seem able to diagnose Jenner as suffering from mental illness - while his psychiatrists and counselors reassure him when he vocalizes second thoughts. THAT is a curiosity someone should delve into. Jenner is a sort of spokesmodel for transgender/transsexual people now - which is why these things need to be discussed openly and honestly. Something is off in the psychology profession-business.

  3. I'm surprised that no one thinks she looks like Sarah Palin. I guess that wouldn't play well with the beautiful people.

    1. Indeed. Although she can't look like Palin - Palin is a real woman - not a stereotype.

In a sense, the models I contrasted jenner with are themselves stereotypes - celebrities like these are actresses and models - their image is just as false as Jenner's. It's female impersonation or drag to some extent.

Like I said, Sarah Palin is real woman... natural woman.
