Why isn't the rest of the world celebrating July 4th?

They should be required to do so - especially nations with American troops and countries who receive aid from the United States.  We give them access to birth control and abortion, and now lend our support and encourage countries to promote gay rights and gay marriage - story here.  So, these countries should at least be encouraged to celebrate our Independence Day too.  Or else: No aid for you!

U.S. Imperialism at work.

Have a happy 4th of July.  Be careful when handling fireworks.  Don't drink and boat.  Play dance/trance music really loud.  (Or some classic remix.)

What?

Song for this post here.

An interesting article by the colorful Mark Shea...for the record, I like him, always have. Anyway, I am sure many do remain grateful to the U.S.A.

They just are discreet about it.

  3. Happy America Day!
I heard that greeting on the street, and liked it instantly. One is not only wishing a Happy Day, but also a Happy America.
Much better than the tiny girl waving a tiny flag, while being pushed in a stroller by her dad, repeatedly chanting, "U!S!A! U!S!A! U!S!A!" Although, to be fair, the recent soccer matches have been popular, so she may have picked it up from her dad's TV habits.
For me, nothing says Liberty like setting off 44,000 pounds of explosives in an assault of the night sky, choreographed to music.. Yay! My tax dollars at work! :D
    Happy America Day!

  4. A bit late but just to say that it is 'celebrated' in primary schools in the U.K. (Children are allowed to wear cowboy hats and have burguer and chips for lunch)
