The Mass in Bethlehem was beautiful. Bl. Mary of Jesus Crucified was there in a special way - did you Carmelites see her? The Mass was in Latin too.
I suppose for some Catholic bloggers it's the right time - just the wrong Pope. Too bad.
I received a comment from an unstable character suggesting the Pope is a Jew and that the Jesuits were financed by Jews. Jesus was Jewish too.

Very happy that the Carmelites had Bl. Mary of Jesus Crucified so present! Sorry about the lunatic fringe...more people are normal, like Pope Francis, for instance.

ReplyDeleteI think the used car dealer who accosted me ten minutes ago for worshipping idols was probably stranger. He was really offended by the Jesus Caritas symbol on my shirt ("you're worshipping a tool of execution and torture!") and my rosary. Breaks your heart to see how demons have twisted the faith in some people's minds. It all started when I let him know an Audi on his lot had it's windows down in the rain. No good deed goes unpunished... LOL

DeleteI think Pope Francis has been misrepresented at times both by Catholic and secular media. I watched the video from Rome Reports where he fielded questions on the plane back from World Youth Day and it is evident that he was not being dismissive of the Church's teaching on homosexuality. His words, "Who am I to judge?", have been taken out of context. In that video with the context of the remarks, it is evident that he intended to communicate the teaching of the Church on the matter as articulated in the Catechism. He was trying to emphasize the distinction between having a homosexual orientation and actually choosing to act out of that, and to reiterate that having a homosexual orientation is not a sin. He was referring to those who may have an orientation but who are seeking God with "good will," which I understand to mean with the will to please God, to do good, to do what is God's will. He was speaking of those who are sincere and that to marginalize a person with a homosexual orientation on the basis of that orientation is wrong.
