Michelle at the DNC

Excerpts from Mrs. Obama's speech.*

When it comes to giving our kids the education they deserve, Barack knows that like me and like so many of you, he never could've attended college without financial aid.

And believe it or not, when we were first married, our combined monthly student loan bills were actually higher than our mortgage.

We were so young, so in love, and so in debt.

So in the end, for Barack, these issues aren't political – they're personal.

Barack knows the American Dream because he's lived it...

And he believes that when you've worked hard, and done well, and walked through that doorway of opportunity...you do not slam it shut behind you...

I know from experience that if I truly want to leave a better world for my daughters, and all our sons and daughters...if we want to give all our children a foundation for their dreams and opportunities worthy of their promise...if we want to give them that sense of limitless possibility – that belief that here in America, there is always something better out there if you're willing to work for it...

Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America.** - Transcript of Michelle Obama's speech at DNC

*Made me think of the Ashford and Simpson song.
**She said "God" twice!

Party people this is what you want...

    1. She looked good too. I think she is one of the most popular First Ladies ever.

    since I cannot post .... I would say if I could ....

dangerous hyperboles, with the exception of 'she looked good' ... I did like the dress she wore .... but that won't save a Nation or the people. And, for 'brilliant' .... brilliant in what —delivery of speech? I have heard better deliveries, but she was polished and well practiced. In her speech contents? If delivery of propaganda in enthusiastic and believable assertions, then
yes she was 'brilliant'. So how is this brilliant display good for the people?

    1. P - I'm not sure I'd say brilliant - 'bright' works for me.

Personally, I'm watching the DNC as one might watch a reality show - that's all. I'm not endorsing it.
