Elizabeth Scalia tells it like it is.
.
She's a very smart lady and has just about the best perspective possible on the Fr. Corapi phenomenon. Scalia pretty much articulates all of what I have been thinking regarding the scandal, especially as it concerns Corapi's defenders - who have been acting like agents of the Inquisition. The Anchoress sums it up beautifully here: The Corapi Story; Devil's Delight

Cardinal Sheehan died in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how long it would take for this situation to degenerate into the gossip of women.
ReplyDeleteA holy Priest was once accused, and he just kept quiet, saying Mass, taking confessions, administering the Sacraments, and so on.
He had to work around the accusations and suffer much in silence.
Finally he was exonerated.
When asked why he did not defend himself he replied "I toil in the vineyard of the Divine Master. I am one of His laborers and as such, He clothes and feeds me, and protects me. Whatever the outcome, no one else's but His will would triumph. My hope is in the Lord."
Pray for Priests.
Pray for the Holy Father.

the gossip of women
ReplyDeleteHuh?
LOL! That's our St. Michael guy.
ReplyDeleteI am a dunce. Who are the gossiping women?
ReplyDeleteMaria--the whole thing is turning into a hen party, rather than "Just the facts, ma'am ." Unfortunately in this day and age, you are guilty until proven innocent, and Fr Corapi doesn't seem to be to be the type of individual to let the accusations roll off his back.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the investigation will be impartial and reveal the truth. We can only pray.
