More Coptic Martyrs

Even if before men, indeed, they be punished, yet is their hope full of immortality. - Common for Martyrs

CAIRO (AP) — A video purporting to show the mass beheading of Coptic Christian hostages was released Sunday by militants in Libya affiliated with the Islamic State group.
The killings raise the possibility that the Islamic militant group — which controls about a third of Syria and Iraq in a self-declared caliphate — has established a direct affiliate less than 500 miles (800 kilometers) from the southern tip of Italy. One of the militants in the video makes direct reference to that possibility, saying the group now plans to "conquer Rome." - Story

Whoever loses his life for my sake, will find it in eternity, says the Lord. - Common for Martyrs

Do not sell your birthright for all the world.  No matter what compromise, what alternative lifestyle is offered you, do not surrender your soul.  Keep the faith.  Put no trust in princes, in riches, in comfort, developed doctrine, or false peace.  Pray.  Pray.  Pray.

Queen of Martyrs!  Pray for us!

  1. I want to share these thought with you, Terry. I am sad and yet, I am hopeful. No blood shed for Christ is in vain. It penetrates the earth, takes hold of the ground, makes it sacred. It will flourish for all eternity.
    Amen

I know many times over for me, I forget God's promises because I get wrapped up in the news and in the little things of daily life and yes, petty stuff too. Then out of nowhere, a reminder comes and a forceful and joyful one at that.

    Here's an example:

"In the wake of more brutality by militant group Islamic State, Franklin Graham has said that even they will one day bow to Jesus.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse, wrote: "The evil of ISIS really shouldn't shock us – it is fully in keeping with their ultimate agenda of hastening a final apocalypse. God's Word tells us that there will be a final battle one day, but it will result in the defeat of Satan and all those allied with him.

"One thing is for sure – one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

After I read that I thanked the Lord. I thanked him because I was wringing my hands and wondering how much longer...I will do my best not to ask that question again.
Instead, I will do my best to keep praying, to keep hoping and to keep interceding for all who suffer and yes, to pray for those who are doing such evil.

One of the Coptic martyr's mother is quoted to have said this:

"Asked by host Maher Fayez what he would say if he were asked to forgive ISIS, he related what his mother said she would do if she saw one of the men who killed her son. "My mother, an uneducated woman in her sixties, said she would ask [him] to enter her house and ask God to open his eyes because he was the reason her son entered the kingdom of heaven."
