The Viganò Manuscript

What if Vigano's 'letter' was just a script for another Dan Brown novel?

I bet that's it.  Maybe a rewrite of one of Malachi Martin's books?  A reality TV show plot?  Many people are bringing up Malachi Martin, suggesting he was some sort of prophet.  Seriously, Vigano's letter fits in with all the prophecies and conspiracy theories and Goth-fiction stories from 1P5 and The Remnant over the years.  Even Fr. Z is scared.

Anyway, I'm in a much better mood today.  I'm grateful for living in interesting times.

Maybe this was a sign after all?

This too?

Another omen?

    1. Elsewhere online someone referred to Card. Burke as a 'walking doily'. I laughed so hard.

    2. Poor Card. Burke, he can't win, can he? Well, only in certain circles.
In another interview, he gives his thoughts on the latest papal news. I found them to be reasonable and charitable.

What he might say behind closed doors may be entirely different, but if he is wise, I pray he will choose his public words carefully until those accused are proven guilty.

    3. Never mind Malachi Martin. These are just like the events depicted in the novel Dictator Pope! This is uncanny!

  2. Terry, I just came home from bringing Holy Communion to Catholic patients at a local hospital. After offering them Our Lord, I pray with them and visit a bit. Many of them mentioned the current horror. But I must say, I was rather surprised. Not one was bitter. Angry and disappointed, yes.

But as one older gentleman, a Marine in great pain with kidney stones, told me, "It's time to man up and do our part. The guilty must repent of course, and we must be absolutely sure this never happens again. The rest of us need to support our Church and our fellow Catholics. We cannot expect everything to be perfect all the time because this ain't Heaven. If all we can do is pray, then we must do it. But we cannot leave anyone behind. We are a family and have a duty to God, our Church, and to each other."

Spoken like a real man of God. I'm glad he's on our side! Let's get busy, people. The gates of hell will not prevail against us. As this good man said, we cannot leave anyone behind, and we have a duty to God and our Church.

    1. That's actually reassuring. God bless them. Thanks Susan.

  3. Steve Bannon is being linked to having a part in this. He is often in Rome from what I read meeting with the anti-Francis lobby. Michael Voris and Church Militant is in the mix too. Another “he said/he said accusation with no factual evidence to prove. The devils is working overtime to sow dissent and anger. It ain’t over.

    1. For whatever reason, the boldness of this latest scandal seems to have only whipped up certain segments of the Catholic faithful with the attitude that they "got'em."

I read on a secular news outlet that some clerical sex-abuse survivors are angry with the latest news because they "feel they are being used by certain Curia forces within the church in their struggle for power." An interesting response to the current situation.

Bishop Robert Barron has a new interview on the Word of Fire website. His words give me much consolation and hope. His love of Christ and the Church, his own witness, build up the body of Christ rather than tear her down. Like the rest of us, he prays and waits for the truth on this whole situation.

The folks Susan met with, believers all, despite the storm, I will seek their company, their witness, like all of you who have gathered here on Terry's blog, like my fellow parishioners, all a source of great comfort and hope against hope.

WH, thanks for more revealed info on who else is involved in all of this. I hope you saw the link on the picture captured in 2013 of then Pope Benedict in what looks like a very cordial handshake with then Card.
      McCarrick. Your thoughts?

    2. Wallacehamilton, you are rightl. Bannon is a part of this. I really hope these allegations are investigated and the truth comes out. Pope Francis is one of the most hated men in the world.

This picture too is interesting. A "sanctioned" McCarrick and Vigano together.
More food for thought after reading the article too except my stomach is telling me to walk away from the feeding frenzy ... I can't help myself. 😑

  5. Oh Yaya, I think it is a set up and I am so tired of it all. They are even going after Poor Benedict and his and JP 2's closest advisors. I also, like you, wish Francis would just defend himself but there is something more her that just escapes my limited understanding. I, also like you and others here, understand that our Church has flaws and faults. I support exposing the sins and crimes and reforming what must be reformed. I will continue to hold dear the faith and sacraments that bring me closer to Jesus. Over the years we have known many priests. Some inspiring some not so much. None ever accused of abuse even to today. I always reminde my family it doesn't matter if you like or dislike the priest. A valid Mass will bring you the grace you need over and above the man who channels it. This is not an excuse for abusers but an acceptance that you have to look beyond the man. Anyway, I appreciate your thoughts and others here who affirm my faith when others in this life what to dump the whole thing. I sometimes think my mother, father and brothers, among others I assume to be in haven are pulling me back from that dark reaction. Anyway, how is your Tio? I continue to remember him and pray for full recovery. Sorry for the verbosity. I do get carried away in writing. In person I am usually rather quiet!

  7. Terry, you talk about the reality series and TV plots etc. One thing that has been on my mind since Cardinal Burke sent the dubia to Pope Francis: Our Lady's words in Akita

"The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres...churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord."

I'm not able to dismiss Vigano's letter. If you read some of his history, he actually worked to clean up corruption at the Vatican Bank, and was forced to defend himself of charges against corruption (knowing history, I know criminals delight in charging those who want to clean up corruption with the corruption that has been done, e.g. Rutilius Rufus for a spectacular example of this). He has also defended himself against the charges made against him in the Minnesota Archdiocese, and at least a couple of diocesan bishops here in the US have said his accusations (though they didn't specify which or all of them) are credible.

I suppose my disgust has reached the point that I want them all to just repent and resign their offices, and if a sitting Pope is part of the cabal, so be it. They have to go. All of them.Send them to a desert monastery to do penance for the rest of their lives. It's about the only way they'll be able to atone for the souls lost. I am, however, absolutely disgusted with how some Catholics are positively giddy over this. Seriously? A sitting pope being accused of covering up sexual abuse? We Catholics should be donning sackcloth and ashes right now.

I did hear one traditional priest a few weeks ago stated that the holiest people he knew did not read Catholic blogs or Catholic content on the 'net. I'd say it's very good advice right now. As for the words of Our Lady of Akita (and to steal from Fr. Z):

    GO TO CONFESSION!!!!!

SERIOUSLY!! DO IT!!! ASAP! Even if you just went last week! Do a general confession! Those are a great blessing when you haven't done one in a few years!!

Okay, I'm out. I hope this wasn't too long, or too rambling. God Bless you Terry et al.

    1. I just re-read the Akita message last night. This AM read a bit on 'The Two Faces of Cardinal Edwin O'Brien' who was also named by Vigano in his letter. Very bad - but it confirms a lot for me - esp. the admission of gay people to seminary. This is very bad - much duplicity.

Yes - good advice - go to confession. I definitely need to do so. Events are closer than when we first believed, to paraphrase scripture. Thanks Steven.

    3. Thanks Yaya. I do think Benedict needs to make a statement though, because he’s caught up in the maelstrom. If he didn’t sanction McCarrick, just say so. If he did, say so. This is a chance for Our Lord and Our Lady to cleanse the Church, and people need to be forthcoming. Otherwise we just get more accusations and even more secrets.

    4. You know I have been thinking the same thing today. My thoughts are all over the place but the people who know the truth should say so and stop holding back. If Benedict holds the key to all of this, then he does need to speak up since he knew too and never said a word.

What's the worst that can happen? If the Holy Father is found guilty of withholding McCarrick abuse evidence, then he will do what is best for the Church. If he is found innocent, then he presses on.

Either way, no one is going to be completely happy.
