DeleteFr. J gave the most beautiful and anointed homily this morning about Divine Mercy. He gave a very brief background of the devotion and then centred the talk on mercy and forgiveness. What I got out of it is that while it is about forgiveness it's also about God showing us who he is. WHO he is. Not what he does (although that's all part of it), not how he judges or understands things but how he is love, forgiveness and mercy itself and how he desires to pour that onto us and into us. I can't even type this without tears welling up as I am so in awe.
ReplyDeleteWHO He Is! Exactly! That is so beautiful. S. Francis of Assisi prayed, "Who are you Lord and what am I?" Tears welling up here too!
