High School Reunion

I wonder if Amber will be there?

This has me a bit freaked out.

High School was a really, really long time ago.  A friend was supposed to let me know about the plans, but I had to find out from a stranger.  Typical.  What?

So anyway - now that I'm on Facebook, I was looking up schoolmates - some even post photos of themselves how they look today.  (Of course, I've always posted current photos of myself as well.)  What?

I'm torn.  Should I go?  Will I go?  That is the question, isn't it, Omelet?  What?

Song for this post here.

  1. Of course they're current photos of you. You just never age. Your high school experience couldn't have been too bad if you're considering going to the reunion. I was bullied in (Catholic)high school. There I go. I've been triggered by the words "high school." (Just kidding about the last bit.)

    1. Surprisingly I was never bullied. It's funny though - looking at some of the Facebook people I went to school with, they are just as I expected them to be. I think they all voted for Hillary, so if and when they look me up, I think they will be surprised. Maybe not. I'll have to start working out if I plan on showing up. So, that's not going to happen. LOL!

  2. I went to my 10th because that was in the days before the internet, Classmates, FB, etc. and I wanted to find some old friends. I missed my 20th and 30th because they were put on by the snobs for the snobs. I never fit in anywhere in school because I prefer one friend at a time to a group and you also are somehow marked as different when you are the child of immigrants (even from a Christian white northern European background). I am not the person I was in high school (thank you God for your transforming grace!) so I see no need to revisit that time of my life. Just my 2 cents worth!

  4. Ah High School. Freshman year I ditched school for two weeks straight. I felt so alone and wanted nothing to do with school. Anyway, 10th grade was a snooze but had fun in 11th and 12th grade as I became more social and did good with my studies.

Never was interested in any High School reunions though.

If you decide to venture forth, have fun!

  5. I went to my 10 year and looked great. All the women looked great. The men looked 40. I met a classmate's second wife and realized that I'd known him longer than she'd been alive as she was several years younger.

The last class reunion I went to was mom's 60th, which she really wanted to go to. I kept telling her I didn't know if she could and in the end, asked the nurse practitioner if there was any medical reason she couldn't go. She said no but it would be a lot of work. I thought about what we needed; wheelchair van (rental), hotel rooms (easy), hospital equipment (easy) and home health aide (most difficult).

She had a ton of fun and talked about it the rest of her life, which was not quite 2 yrs. Afterwards I asked if she had ever thought she couldn't go and she said she knew I could do it. I wasn't sure I could.
