"I signed up on Facebook again to say hi to an old co-worker - I regret it now ... While on Facebook I looked at our friends and some of my relatives - it was interesting - I always think of everyone as being the same as when I last saw them, which in many cases, is decades ago. It was helpful to see everyone has their own lives and I was able to see I'm just not part of it. LOL! Why did I even think I would be? It was freeing in a way. Kind of sad too - but it helps with the guilt - I can let it go. I can let go of the guilt. That's big."

So this is what I told them ...

I love those old photos. Looks like you're heading off to either Woodstock, to film Jesus Christ Superstar, or San Francisco with flowers in your hair...or maybe all of the above?
ReplyDeleteSan Francisco - I caught up with them in Seattle and we crossed over to Montreal where I left them. I totally fell in love with Canada.
DeleteInteresting about Facebook. I've got a few friends from high school and I see other former school mates commenting but rarely have these people sent me a friend request. Others have sent requests and I think - you spoke to me once in eighth grade (over 40 years ago) and now you want to be my friend? No, what they really want is too check out my photos and to see if I got fat. I've tried to contact some old friends that were around when my children were very small. I guess they don't like me anymore as none have responded. I didn't like myself in those days either - no wonder they've moved on. Facebook - 99% of the time it's the tool of evil.
ReplyDeleteYeah - I haven't decided if I'm staying on Facebook again. I think I have 20 requests in queue and a few messages as well. I rarely answer my phone and rarely check messages - so I won't be very good about answering Facebook messages - I'm a bit better with email, but not always.
DeleteI was going to call you but you don't answer the phone anyway. I don't know if I should send a landshark or just have the cops do a welfare check. What?

DeleteI could just try to friend you on Facebook but I'd have to join to do that...

DeleteOh, I THOUGHT I just saw you on Facebook and I tried to "friend" you although I afraid it might be an imposter. But then you disappeared into the night again, just like Peter Pan.
ReplyDeleteI meant to friend you but I haven't been back to Facebook for several days - I want to friend you. Don't abandon me! ;)
DeleteI won't!!
