"Are we prepared to promote conditions in which the living contact with God can be reestablished? For our lives today have become godless to the point of complete vacuity. God is no longer with us in the conscious sense of the word. He is denied, ignored, excluded from every claim to have a part in our daily life." - Alfred Delp, S.J.

Glenn Frey

Song for this post here.

  1. There are at least four songs that come to mind that the Eagles made great that Ienjoy to this day.

RIP Mr. Frey. Thanks for the memories.

  2. It seems it's a bad week to be a rock star! RIP Glenn.

  3. I pray the first words he heard after death were much more hopeful than "Welcome to the Hotel California."

  4. Tears are flowing here. Rest in Everlasting Peace. The pain is gone now. God's comfort to all who loved you.

  5. Such an incredibly talented man. He certainly left his mark. Prayers for him and his family.

I labeled it 3rd man because they say people go in 3's - so I began counting when Natalie Cole died. I'm sure it's superstitious - but I always think of that when notable people die.

  6. I couldn't believe how old he was...making me feel old also! RIP and prayers for his family.

  7. ah the beauty of youth ! he was such a beautiful young man. yes Mack: we Are all old now....The '60's generation. I pretty much enjoy it. It is good to be 'invisible'. I had to smile today: at work someone 'young' said to me: "Oh I wish you would bring in a picture of when you were young: I'll bet you were beautiful then !". hee hee...it was a real PIA then and I am happy to be free of it !
