"Are we prepared to promote conditions in which the living contact with God can be reestablished? For our lives today have become godless to the point of complete vacuity. God is no longer with us in the conscious sense of the word. He is denied, ignored, excluded from every claim to have a part in our daily life." - Alfred Delp, S.J.

I love this ...

  1. Hi T, Did I ever write to you about this: when teaching in W Samoa, our staff included two Irish nuns, one Maryknoll priest sent to the islands for a more restful atmosphere and a layman (at that time) me. We used to occasionally eat together and talk afterwards. Once the question came up: What do you think the Lord will say to you after you die and come before him? I will never forget the priest's response: he thought Jesus would say "What was THAT all about?" Your title and implied tone bought the other line back at once.

  2. Wait. What? Where did you get my book???

  3. With the subtitle: "Did You Think There Was a Plan B?"
