Who is she that comes forth as the morning rising,
fair as the moon, bright as the sun,
terrible as an army set in battle array? - Little Office BVM
O Lord, "you would not allow her to see the corruption of the tomb since from her own body she marvelously brought forth your incarnate Son, the Author of all life." - Preface

WOW! Thank you for sharing that link. Have sent it around to a few people.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Mass this morning for Assumption. We haven't had Saturday Mass in our parish for many years but a few of us asked our new priest if we could have one for this Solemnity. He was doubtful anyone would show up as we were discussing this Thursday night - less than 48 hours before the proposed 10 AM start time. I promised him at least 50 people would show up - we would spread the word, make calls, etc. The Holy Spirit and our parishes built-in love and devotion to Our Lady ended up bringing in at least 100 people. Father was surpised, pleased and in awe. I don't think I will ever forget the look of happiness on his face as he stood looking at us. Soon we will have Mass every Saturday morning!!!! I doubt we'll get 100 people out every weekend but who knows?! Mark 11:24 :)
Make a point of the First Saturdays devotion to start with.
ReplyDeleteMy aunt, who is v challenging for me to deal with, once sat at a family gathering talking about going to Mass on First Saturdays with a cousin when they were kids but didn't remember why. Every time she paused, I said "Indulgences" but she kept right on talking until someone pointed out that I was trying to tell her the answer.
Yes, Father is very keen to have Mass on First Fridays and First Saturdays. We are blessed!
