The kindness of Pope Francis seems to have shown up the meanness in Catholics.

'From whatever side...'

Like I said a couple of weeks ago, it's not just the rad-trad factions either.

Haven't you noticed?
The ideologues falsify the gospel. Every ideological interpretation, wherever it comes from – from [whatever side] – is a falsification of the Gospel. - Pope Francis

Love is kind.

I think it is all good, however.  Since by seeing our failings and defects more clearly, we are urged on to do better by the Holy Father's example.

  2. Pope Francis is confirming what I have come to believe, that the far left and the far right - whether it be politics or religion or whatever - are just two sides of the same coin. Anytime we are engaged in pushing our point of view and demonizing those who disagree with us, we are on the wrong side.

  3. Thank you for this...All this nonsense when Pope Francis continued wearing his black shoes...people were ready to draw and quarter because there were no red shoes..Really? Didn't Jesus wear sandals? Didn't Peter? Jesus was crucified, died and rose again for our sins, the Apostles gave their lives and we focus on shoes? I love the old black shoes of our new Papa and also loved the spiffy little red ones that Pope Benedict wore. Perhaps if the fanatics would focus on souls instead of soles, we might be able to widen the peripheral vision of our narrow mindedness enough to share more love with a world that is waiting, some of whom can afford no shoes.
