Last evening, I watched an edited version of the Concert for the Queen's Jubilee. It was horrible. I felt sorry for Her Majesty, having to sit through that. Fortunately for her, she had her earplugs in.
I'll bet the queen has a lot stuff she has to sit through when she'd rather be home hanging out with the corgis. Too bad she's not Catholic. Think of all the chances she has to "offer it up".
Part of last evening was spent watching the transit of Venus across the face of the Sun, online. It was cloudy and the sun was setting as it began here, so I was grateful for NASA and the internet. http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap120605.html
A good Queen realizes that her life is not her own. Corgis, horses, and an exquisite art collection are a small consolation.

I very much admire her for that.
