"Are we prepared to promote conditions in which the living contact with God can be reestablished? For our lives today have become godless to the point of complete vacuity. God is no longer with us in the conscious sense of the word. He is denied, ignored, excluded from every claim to have a part in our daily life." - Alfred Delp, S.J.

I think of Giotto's Nativity with this song.

  1. That takes me back a few years! I loved that movie; I had the vinyl LP album, and the piano accompaniment, and I would have had the t-shirt if there was one. Do you recall the "Ave Maris Stella"? Wanted that for our wedding, but my parents were pretty lukewarm on the idea, so I went with Schubert instead.

  2. No one beat Zeferelli for his ability to cast movies. Always dead-on.
