"I just did a dance piece called "Melodrama." I dance it with another dancer, who's Jesus, and I'm a priest. And the first part is my commentary on going to the Gibson "Passion" and looking away most of the time, and trying to figure out why. Then I segue into other images of Jesus we need to see, for example a comic Jesus. Jesus and I go into a duet to "Make 'Em Laugh" from "Singin' in the Rain," doing all this kind of Three Stooges movement, slipping on banana peels, walking into walls. I bring this up because someone who is Catholic and who heard about the piece was very upset, even hearing that I would do something that could possibly be offensive to Catholic sensibilities, whatever that means."
Terry - maybe you caught his act while you were here in Boston?
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I spared you the picture of this priest in his leotards..in the Sanctuary but I think your video wings first place blue ribbon for make up and nakedness.
Can anyone provide a translation of what is being said by the parishioners and the priests? What was the celebration? The images of the actions of the priests and the pew sitters are a bit unsettling. The altar scenes as well, so what was this all about?
It appears the video has been removed - I don't understand Portugese at all so I have no idea what was said - it appeared to be part of a Mass - not sure.
You know the Vatican can manipulate the weather, right? I'm just sayin...
If you'd kept him on your Christmas card list, he wouldn't be mad at you!
I'm going to brave the snow so I can go work on my icon with Deb. I'm still working on the one you saw, but have begun a St. Michael. You would think there were no other icons out there; 3rd St. Michael, 10th icon!

Carol - gratefully it was after my time there - I lived in Boston when people like Geoghan were covered for.
ReplyDeleteI just read the link. Big eyeroll. I guess they are still covered for.
ReplyDelete:O)

ReplyDeleteThey removed it on account of Msgr. Ganswein reading your blog and asking about it.
ReplyDeleteI think Nan is right, Terry. You're on thin ice, pal. Be careful. Have you seen any albino monks hanging around your neighborhood lately?
ReplyDeleteLarry - I have - but it is snowing now and they blend in.
ReplyDeleteNan - Ganswein is mad at me again.
Lloyd, I forgot to mention - I link to you already. God bless - I'm glad you read my blog.
