He always showed who he was. His voters just chose to ignore. He also always send thugs to do his bidding. He sent them yesterday, said he would be with then, retreated to WH, watched with glee, told them they were special and today threw them under that proverbial bus. All within 36 hours. No one ever better say "but what about?" To me ever again. This man has divided family, friends and the nation. He is not done yet.
I agree. He won't be at the Inauguration - I think it's because they are planning some sort of siege - there is a lot of chatter online. Which made me wonder why DHS wasn't more aware - finally Chad Wolf spoke out, and 2 hours later Trump pulled his nomination for the job. His hiring and firing and temp appointments may have disable intelligence to some extent - by design. Just a thought - but I'd be wary about Trump leaving town in the next couple of weeks.
I do not usually agree with Joe Biden, but when he called this an act of domestic terrorism, he was absolutely right. It wasn't an attack on conservatives, nor on liberals - it was an attack on America. I know it may sound trite, but it comes down to a lack of civility, something we see to have lost in our country, sadly. It is possible to disagree with another without losing friendship, and to respond calmly with dignity and respect, while still defending our own view. When another disagrees with us, we do not have to become enemies. And it is better to work things out, without contempt, insults, and violence. And sometimes, we just have to accept defeat, whether it is justified or not.
I know many here may not agree with me. I hope I have offended no one. But change for the better *must* start now, and it starts with me.
Susan, I have nothing but admiration & respect for you. It is far deeper & mre sinister then just disagreement. This was minimally sedition & possibly treason. An armed insurrection with weapons, intent to take hostages, a scaffold with noose erected, no DOD response until Pence order from a bunker. The “protestors” were hanger ons. Anyone who excuses this does not want to live in a democracy any longer.
Thank you for your kind comments, Mr. H. I only meant mine as a place to start, to change the corrosive attitude in our country, one citizen at a time. You are right, of course. We *cannot* excuse or look the other way when anarchy is permitted and encouraged, and innocent people are killed or maimed for life. We are better than this, as Americans and as Catholics. Again, peace to you, Mr. H, and all here.
Susan I look forward to your comments and insights. I believe there are more decent people then not and we will survive. As a child of the 70’s I knew folks who were swallowed up into cults. It is always a slow acting poison. Escape takes years to get out and overcome the trauma. Some will some will not. I pray for them. We have a bumpy road ahead, but we have the most powerful weapon that never fails: Faith & our rosary.

ReplyDeleteI agree completely. I don't understand why Trump isn't removed by now.
