Our Lady of Guadalupe

  1. I am the co-editor of our two-parish newsletter, along with our good pastor. We selected the lovely image of OLG, which had interesting facts about it. I was amazed to learn the tilma maintains a constant temperature of 98.6 F, that a stethoscope placed below the black ribbon on Our Lady's abdomen registers 115 beats/minute (the same as an infant in utero), that it has regenerated itself after acid attacks and fire, that the stars on OLG's veil are an exact representation of the stars in the sky at the time she appeared, that her eyes, when examined under a microscope, show the reflection of a native Mexican and several clergymen, including a bishop, and far more. And while the Reformation claimed the loss of over 5 million souls from the Catholic Church, the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe brought over 9 million souls to the Catholic Church at nearly the same time. God bless and protect you, dear Terry, and thank you for posting this!
