The urge to "give up" is a strong persistent n overwhelming one. I know because it keeps making an unwelcome visit. I imagine it is one the Apostles and early Christians were familiar with. As I watch in horror the daily unmasking of hate, fear, greed and corruption I retreat into my safe happy and comfortable world. Our responsibility is not just to ourselves. So, I regroup and look for small ways to resist the tide that keeps pulling us into the swamp. Remember the popular movement of a few years back? WWJD. What would Jesus Do? The answer for me is obvious. He would speak up and pray.
