“I know when you pray for me, and it is the same with all of the other souls here in Purgatory. Very few of us here get any prayers; the majority of us are totally abandoned, with no thought or prayers offered for us from those on earth”(Message from a soul in Purgatory)
I sure miss Fr. Groeschel. Hearing his voice again brings back wonderful memories. May he rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteHe gives a wonderful talk on Death and Purgatory with that funny sense of humor of his. God bless him!

He does go off topic at the end though. :(
DeleteI pray for the “poor souls in purgatory” with every rosary. Sr. Lucy and Jacinta were shown them in a vision at Fatima.
ReplyDeleteBenedict Joseph Labre? https://www.kijiji.it/annunci/antiquariato/napoli-annunci-napoli/dipinto-raff-santo-olio-su-tela-dell-800/105820521?fbclid=IwAR2nt3ceSHgpwQwvN9AvJQsEjsVxUTWyLiA6IS-Gp4FswKuf7M9qCDhMPGE
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - It can't be Benedict Joseph because his likeness is documented from life and well known. Because of the white habit and the bell on the staff it is more likely this is an image of St. Anthony Abbot, who is often shown in white, albeit with a cappuccio-hood, and with a bell on his staff - in Italy that is.
DeleteThis month we are concluding every Mass with the Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be and the Eternal Rest prayer (as well as the St. Michael prayer which we started doing again a few years ago). Suddenly all these people I knew that died (some of them years ago) are popping into my mind - I have a feeling they are asking for prayers to get out of purgatory and if not, the prayers can go to another soul.) God is good.
ReplyDeleteThat's very good! I have also had inspirations from souls in purgatory and have Masses said.
