“I as totally poor, a poor nothing.
My strength is my prayer,
my leader is the will of God
which I let Him take me by the hand.
My security over the uneven path
is the heavenly mother Mary.”
Why do you confuse yourselves by worrying? Leave the care of your affairs to me and everything will be peaceful. I say to you in truth that every act of true, blind, complete surrender to me produces the effect that you desire and resolves all difficult situations.
O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!
You'll like this. I was invited to preside at Mass for a Catholic high school Mothers Group last Sunday. I wanted to introduce them to this prayer so ordered 70+ copies from Full of Grace. They did not arrive in time so I began to get resentful, irritated...and then remembered the prayer (duh!) and began to laugh, letting Jesus take care of everything. I ran off slips of paper with the surrender prayer and FoG address...and let it go. The prayer cards arrived after the Mass and then it hit me: I've been invited to preach at a daily Mass of our upcoming summit meeting of all the priests and I will give the cards to them! The moms can contact Full of Grace...and priests get the prayer...and it's obvious in ways big and small that Jesus does take care of everything. Who knew?
ReplyDeleteThat's cool! I just learned a similar, but profound lesson like that. I literally said that prayer this morning - only it was a big sigh at the feet of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and I said "I give up, you take care of it." Slightly different translation I guess, but I regained my peace.
DeleteI can almost hear Papa Francis saying the same ... "I give up, you take care of it." The thought of clear surrender/trust is what keeps our Papa going otherwise I believe with everything that's coming at him from all sides, he would have collapsed long ago.
DeleteThose long walks into the barrios of Argentina where it is said even taxistas refused to go have served him well.
Whoa! I went for coffee with a friend this morning and she shared with me a novena called "O Jesus I Surrender Myself to You" from Don Dolindo Ruotolo! I had never heard of him before and now he has touched my life twice in one day!
