Yes Sire!
Some good news at last...
“Following the press articles reporting the name of the author of the book “The Dictator Pope” the Grand Magistry of the Order of Malta has taken the decision to suspend Henry Sire, author of the book and member of the Order of Malta. The provisional suspension from membership has immediate effect and an investigation is being launched.” - Source
Frankly I was surprised Sire had so much support since he too is from the despised 'Baby-boomer' generation. Not surprisingly, Church Militant is claiming the suspension is illegal.
With Papa Francis loving and staying close to our Lady, who can harm him? While all this dirt continues to be tossed his way, I am sure he prays for those folks and asks our Lord Jesus to have mercy on them.
ReplyDeleteI admire our Holy Father, because despite it all, he presses onward calling us all to the sacraments, prayer, to forgive, to love, to be charitable.
He suffers, he loves, he lives as the Vicar of Christ.
Viva il Papa!
BTW ... did you see this wonderful little gem, Terry?

That smile, his radiance, is one who is full of life and not death.
Yaya, I wish there was "like" button so I could like your comment!
DeleteWell, you and Terry have been inspirational too. ^^
DeleteI do not understand the dislike of our current Holy Father. I have not ever experienced it. Indifference? Yes, when I put my faith on the backburner so I could live in the world. But I remember still paying attention as far back as Pope Paul IV. I do not relate to the mocking, bashing, sneers or smears.
I have yet to see or hear Papa Francis say anything to the contrary. How can one be called a "heretic" when he is always calling us to the sacraments? To confession? To love Jesus and Mary? To read the Gospels? To imitate the saints? Love of neighbor? To stop with the gossip?
If anything, these treasures will lead to our salvation, to eternal life. I may not always understand but I pray for the grace to do so and above all to trust. I refuse to visits those sites that claim to be "the bearers of the true faith/Francis is a heretic" blah ... blah ... blah.
They do not build up the body of Christ but tear it down in the most destructive and scandalous ways. If anything, imo, people are led astray and poisoned. I know because I used to visit these sites and found them to be disruptive and uncharitable.
To all those sites that spew venom ... You want my attention? Offer me Christ Crucified and love of neighbor rather than your personal opinion (passed off as fact) as you're busy building yourself up while tearing our beloved Papa down.
Thanks Yaya - I did not see that. Very fun. I love him so much and have the same confidence you do and see him in the same way. Unfortunately there are those who don't and it makes me genuinely sad. I know people, former coworkers and friends who follow these terrible attacks against the Pope(s). They mock and scorn both of them, and/or endorse those who do that. I was esp. sad a friend I once had so much respect for would applaud the posts Hilary White posted against Francis.
ReplyDeleteThese conspiracy theories are embraced with such conviction it is appalling. They layer attack upon attack, spread defamation and detraction and calumnies right and left. They quote priests and prophets, scripture and encyclicals to condemn the Pope. They proudly quote Fatima repeating Sr. Lucia's words that the world is misled by a diabolic delusion, while rejecting the Church's interpretation of the message of Fatima. How they can't see they are participating in that very delusion is beyond my understanding. They follow amateur journalists and self-made 4-year degree theologians instead of the Magisterium. They claim to be more wise, more learned, more Catholic than many high placed bishops and cardinals. They have no respect or humility and reject legitimate authority and everything the Holy Father says and does, attributing the worst evils to his intentions. The language and invective alone should inform their conscience to refrain from holy communion. If there confessor tells them otherwise, they need to find a new confessor.
I pray constantly for the Holy Father - and the conversion of sinners - and I do not pretend for a minute that I too need deep and ongoing conversion and so I pray the rosary as De Montfort taught sinners to pray, asking for forgiveness of my sins and the grace to know the truth.
Let's keep praying for one another and clinging to the barque of Peter. Thanks Yaya for always showing such fidelity and devotion.
Can't edit - SB their confessor instead of there confessor. It was a spontaneous comment which I didn't edit - and can't edit with Blogger. Sorry. The 'I do not pretend' part at the end is weird - but readers know what I meant - I am so much in need of conversion. Thanks for all your comments.
Delete"I am so much in need of conversion"
DeleteMe too dear friend ... the one gem that has remained with me all these years from St.JPII is his call to "personal conversion."
Without it, all is straw.
I wonder why a man like Sire would even stay in the Order of Malta after all the Rad Trad Bad Press on the Knights...Doesn't make sense.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you know about them more than I do but in a quick research on them I noticed conspiracy theories about infiltration by Jesuits and Freemasons abound. I suppose it's a status thing for many to belong to the Order.
DeleteWill this ever go away? Somehow I doubt it. The Knights of Malta are not the Knights of Columbus. They are not into bowling, picnics and charity. They are an ancient, wealthy, and politically active in the international world or should I say underworld. Political intrigue, international banking etc. I think the draw is power more then status.
ReplyDelete"I think the draw is power more than status"
DeleteI am no expert, never have been, but if power comes into play rather than being looked upon as a faithful son of the Church at the service of the Pope and the Church, then it reeks of corruption. Sad ...
We are quickly reaching the point where the mantra of the "Angry Trads" (not traditionalists, mind you - just a small vocal subset of them) is "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". Their lionization of this "historian" who simply wrote an unauthorized biography (in plain English: gossip book worthy of Mario Lavandera) is a case in point.
ReplyDeleteI have to make sure I use the proper terms such as angry trads or restorationists instead of traditionalists. I like your reference to the 'unauthorized bio' - that's exactly what it is - gossip.
DeleteDude,
ReplyDeleteThank is an awesome label!
Sincerely,
Check one
Haha! It's from an old Dairy Queen commercial.
DeleteTerry, got your comment about our mutual friend. Makes me realize what a jerk I am and how much in need of forgiveness I am. I have never stopped reading your blog and have continued to find it one of the few sane voices in the Catholic blogosphere. Please forgive me for getting so high and mighty. I am a sinner in desperate need of forgiveness.
ReplyDeleteI didn't mean it as an affront to you at all - I know we've had misunderstandings but we have always been in agreement on the important stuff. I don't think you are being high and mighty at all, and by the looks of those who contend with you in the combox, you are certainly hitting a nerve, so keep up the good work. One of the graces of these attacks against the Pope and Magisterium is that it certainly moves one to deeper contrition and humility and repentance - even a holy fear that one could be misled by following those who dissent. Those who unfriend us do us a favor, those who mock and criticize and reject us as know-nothings do us a great kindness. If only people could understand that, if only they would read and meditate upon the passion - rather than simply chanting it with great precision - then they might recognize the gifts the Father pours out in times such as ours. Sadly - and I really mean that - these people reject even the saints who are being recognized in our day, Paul VI, Romero - just to name two. Anyway - God bless you and please pray for me too - I need to go to confession.
