DeleteBeautiful, Ter. Is that nettle leafed bell flower I see? (pic 1, and vista 1) My father sent me some MN ferns 30 years ago. The bell flowers hitched a ride. I dug up some of the fern when we moved to this house 20 years ago. The bell flowers came along. I pull them, spray them with Roundup and 2,4-D, and still they are everywhere. They've spread to at least 3 of our 5 acres. My cousin in St. Paul has the same problem with hers. I call it the MN curse.
ReplyDeleteNo - it a black salvia - forgot the name - it attracts humming birds - but it gets really tall and is easily snapped off. I had it out front but removed it because all the rain broke it down. The bell flowers you speak of do naturalize along the alley, but I pull them out.

Well - my retired pastor lives next door. I could sure ask him to help. However, we're both overrun with pocket gophers, so he probably wouldn't do much better with the nettle leafed bell flower.
