If only she wore a habit ...

"Don't ever think for an instant, Sister, that your habit will protect you."
- Mother Mathilde’s warning to Sr. Luke - The Nun’s Story

  1. The beautiful and classy Deborah Kerr and the ruggedly handsome, pot-smoking, Robert Mitchum made some dangerous waves together too.

    Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison

    A wonderful film. ^^

    1. I remember that film too! I still like the Nun's Story as it really showed what semi-cloistered religious life was like in the first part of the 20th century - though this version is told from the perspective of a former nun who felt herself to be an outsider/misfit. The war turned life upside down in every state of life - convents not excluded. It lends a more profound meaning to the expression, 'war is a punishment for sin' - the consequences of the disorder of war are far reaching - down through generations.

    2. War ... ugly in all respects but sometimea necessary.

True what you say though but as we are yet not free from the effects of war, I believe we may not be until the Lord returns.

May we be found working and praying for peace and tending to our neighbor upon His glorious return.

I meant to say, sometimes necessary.
