"Are we prepared to promote conditions in which the living contact with God can be reestablished? For our lives today have become godless to the point of complete vacuity. God is no longer with us in the conscious sense of the word. He is denied, ignored, excluded from every claim to have a part in our daily life." - Alfred Delp, S.J.

Traditionalist nuns prepare for the zombie apocalypse: Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning...

From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent are taking it by force. - Matt. 11:12

  1. The habits are very much like those of the Sisters of St. Joseph, an order responsible for some of the misery of my years from seventh through twelfth grade. In those days, Sister did not need to know karate. She accomplished as much with humiliation.

  2. Machone has her sword...the nuns I had could take down a zombie with an eraser middle aimed right at the head!

    1. Viv used to slap me with the end of her pointer and hit harder if you put your hands up to protect your face. I think she was a little Jansenistic. She could twist and ear so tight it almost brought you to your knees - although you were already on them because she did it at Mass. She hated me - I have no doubt. She knew about my parents and that I was a bastard - seriously. She was mean to the good kids too though - except for one girl who wanted to enter the convent.

I'm just like Philomena though - I hold no grudge. What?
