Gay dads.

Happy Father's Day.

They are dads too.  Think about it.

Prayers and best wishes.

BREAKING:  Study shows having 2 moms (lesbians) is worse for kids.  I can see that.

What?

  1. What is a "gay dad"? I'm assuming you are referring to dads who have ssa and are living the gay lifestyle? Prayers for all dads especially those who carry the cross of ssa and struggle with it. St Joseph virginal father of Jesus bless all fathers this father's day. My they (and all men) be strengthened by you and your selfless strong example especially for those dad's who struggle with ssa. Help them and all of us to emulate your example and virtue.

  2. You know what I meant now, don't you. ;)

I actually have a couple of readers who identify as gay and are dads - either by adoptive or natural or artificial means, these men definitely do not say they 'struggle' with ssa. I'm simply acknowledging their existence and the fact they have taken on the responsibility of raising children. I pray for them too.

    1. BTW - Kids definitely don't pick out their parents.

Yes, Terry it is true that children do not pick out their parents. I always wanted Carol and Mike Brady for parents. I guess I always watched too much.

    1. I definitely wanted the Father Knows Best parents as my own - or Ward and June Cleaver would have been nice too.

  4. We don't have Fathers' Day in England. Or rather, we do, but a lot of people still see it as one "card day" too far. We have Mothers' Day, but it's on Laetare Sunday, which is the Third Sunday in Lent. (It's the Sunday in Spring when the priests wear pink, in other words.)

Yes, obviously it's better for children to be brought up by their own parents. And it's obviously better for a kid to be brought up by a man and a woman rather than by two men or two women. (And obviously there are always going to be lots of exceptions to these generalities.)

It's something of a stretch though to make any generalisation from this about the sexuality of a child's parents or foster parents and whether being looked after by "straight" people necessarily makes a child better off.
