"Are we prepared to promote conditions in which the living contact with God can be reestablished? For our lives today have become godless to the point of complete vacuity. God is no longer with us in the conscious sense of the word. He is denied, ignored, excluded from every claim to have a part in our daily life." - Alfred Delp, S.J.

I'm experimenting.
I'm playing around with my watchmen series. Shown above: "The Novice" - Oil, acrylic, colored pencil and water color on paper. (Sort of like a Pompeian wall painting.)

  1. I can't pretend to understand this but it is a striking image. And, you are making more art than I am at the moment. Keep on.

  2. Owen, I have been doing the daily painter thing for the past few weeks, and when I can't sleep at night, I work.

I am not free to say what the image represents.

    God bless.

  3. That's cool. I like her eyes.

  4. I really like this one, Terry. The surroundings have a velvety quality to them.

I'm waiting for some pastel and color pencils to arrive at my house, hopefully within the next week or so.

  5. Wow. Terry, this is one I can stare at. It's frightening and consoling at the same time.

  6. Thanks everyone - I woke up this morning thinking I should take it down.

Ronnie - you seem to "get" my dark side immediately. That's scary. ;)
