Long time gone.

Just an update.

I've been trying to limit my time on social media and so I haven't kept up with the blog or comments.  I'm sorry.  Trying to break my FB habit as well.

So much has happened, I couldn't even begin to comment.

I'm disappointed in all the blowback after Pope Benedict's death - especially the books and articles concerning the relationship between the 2 popes and the opposition to Pope Francis.  Needless to say I'm not reading very much of it.

It appears today the war is escalating and may soon include Europe.

I will continue to post here though.

  1. I'm so glad to hear from you, Terry.

Yes, I am also disappointed by the negativity after Pope Benedict died. He would not have approved of it, I feel certain. He had nothing but respect for Pope Francis from what I could see, and the feeling was mutual, as it should be between brother priests.

I do not think Pope Francis is another John Paul by a long shot. But he also isn't one of the medieval, corrupt popes, either. As a fellow parishioner said when we were left without a pastor for several months, and some parishioners were nattering on about what kind of pastor the Diocese would send - "If he isn't what we want, there's nothing to do but to pray him into Heaven."

That's all we can really do, I think. Throwing insults and engaging in gossip is not productive nor does it uplift anyone.

I know you are very busy and have a life, but don't stay away long. I missed you. It's rare to find a kind soul on social media.

  2. I'm with you on staying off social media, Terry, Glad I quit FB a while back.
As far as all the negative feedback about Papa Benny, he's at rest now and no longer can the insults or critics touch him. Arch Georg is another matter as some online claim he's coming out "swinging" against Papa Francis in some book he's written and in interviews. If this be true, he's a sad example of what it means to carry on in prayerful silence and humility. Others claim that what he's doing is in bad taste and put him next to Vagano and Burke. Who knows? Too much going in the world to even care what he is doing at this point as he has no real influence in the Universal Church except among those who agree with him.
Do what you must to reclaim your tranquility because social media can and does drive one crazy.
God bless you and keep you always close to his heart.
